Handroanthus impetiginosus, commonly known as the Pink Trumpet Tree, Pink Lapacho, or Pau d'Arco, is a deciduous tree native to South America, particularly found in the forests of Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay. This species is renowned for its striking pink flowers, medicinal properties, and durable, rot-resistant wood. It belongs to the family Bignoniaceae, which includes various species of trees and shrubs known for their large, showy flowers.

Handroanthus impetiginosus can grow up to 30 meters in height, with a trunk diameter of up to 1 meter. The bark is rough and gray, while the leaves are opposite, compound, with 5 to 7 leaflets, each leaflet being oval to lanceolate in shape. The fruit is a long, narrow capsule containing numerous winged seeds.
