- Hawaiian Ocean View, often referred to as HOVE, is a community located in the southern part of the Big Island of Hawaii. It is the largest subdivision in the United States, spanning over 10,700 acres. The community is situated on the western slope of Mauna Loa, providing residents with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.
Geography[edit | edit source]
- Hawaiian Ocean View is located in the Kau District of Hawaii County. The community is approximately 45 miles south of Kailua-Kona and 12 miles from the small town of Naalehu. The area is known for its rugged, volcanic landscape and its relatively dry climate.

- While Hawaiian Ocean View does not have any major hospitals within its boundaries, there are several healthcare facilities in the nearby areas that serve the community.
- Kau Hospital - Located in Pahala, approximately 25 miles from Hawaiian Ocean View, Kau Hospital provides emergency services, inpatient care, and long-term care for residents of the Kau District.
- Hilo Medical Center - This is the largest facility in the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation. It is located in Hilo, about 60 miles from Hawaiian Ocean View. The center offers comprehensive healthcare services, including emergency care, surgery, and specialized treatments.
