Health Physicist

A health physicist is a professional dedicated to the protection of people and the environment from the harmful effects of radiation, while making it possible to enjoy the benefits of radiation. Health physicists use principles of physics, biology, chemistry, and mathematics to solve problems related to radiation protection. They develop and implement safety standards to manage radiation sources in medical, industrial, and research settings.

The primary responsibilities of a health physicist include:

A career in health physics typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in health physics, radiation science, or a related field. Many health physicists also hold advanced degrees.
