History[edit | edit source]

Henninger was established in 1869 by Johann Baptist Henninger, a brewer who had previously worked in various breweries in Germany. The brewery was initially located in the Sachsenhausen district of Frankfurt. In the early years, Henninger primarily produced lager beer, which was popular in the region.

In the 20th century, Henninger expanded its operations and began exporting its beers to other countries. The brewery also introduced new products, including Henninger Radler, a beer mixed with lemonade, and Henninger Diät-Pils, a low-calorie beer.

In 2001, Henninger was acquired by the Radeberger Group, one of the largest brewing groups in Germany. Since the acquisition, Henninger has continued to produce its traditional beers, while also introducing new products to meet changing consumer tastes.

Products[edit | edit source]

Henninger's main product is Henninger Lager, a traditional German lager beer. The brewery also produces Henninger Radler, a beer mixed with lemonade, and Henninger Diät-Pils, a low-calorie beer. In addition, Henninger offers a range of seasonal beers, including Henninger Bock, a strong beer that is typically available in the winter months.

Legacy[edit | edit source]

Henninger has made a significant contribution to the German brewing industry. The brewery's products have won numerous awards, including the World Beer Cup, and Henninger Lager is considered a classic example of the German lager style.

In addition to its brewing activities, Henninger is also known for the Henninger Turm, a grain silo in Frankfurt that was converted into a residential tower. The Henninger Turm has become a landmark of Frankfurt and is a symbol of the city's industrial heritage.
