Henri is a given name of French origin, a variant of the name Henry. It is also used as a short form of the name Henrietta. The name is used in French-speaking countries and regions, as well as by many people of French descent. It is also found among those with Huguenot ancestry.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The name Henri is derived from the Germanic name Heinrich, from the elements haim, meaning "home", and ric, meaning "ruler". The name was introduced to France by the Normans.
