- Hephzibah was originally named Brothersville, in honor of three brothers who settled near one another. However, in 1870, the city was renamed Hephzibah, a biblical name which means "my delight is in her".
Geography[edit | edit source]
- Hephzibah is located in the eastern part of Georgia, and it is approximately 12 miles south of Augusta, Georgia. The city covers a total area of 19.6 square miles, of which 19.4 square miles is land and 0.2 square miles is water.
