Herbert Nitsch (born April 20, 1970) is an Austrian freediver who holds multiple world records in various freediving disciplines. He is often referred to as "The Deepest Man on Earth" due to his record-setting dive to a depth of 214 meters (702 feet) in the No Limits discipline.

Herbert Nitsch was born in Vienna, Austria. He developed an interest in the underwater world at a young age, which eventually led him to pursue freediving as a professional career.

Herbert Nitsch began his freediving career in the late 1990s. Over the years, he has set numerous world records in different freediving disciplines, including Constant Weight, Free Immersion, and Variable Weight. His most notable achievement came in 2012 when he set the world record in the No Limits discipline by diving to a depth of 214 meters.
