Hilda Tenorio
Hilda Tenorio (born June 11, 1986) is a Mexican bullfighter known for her significant contributions to the world of bullfighting. She is one of the few female matadors in a traditionally male-dominated sport.
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Hilda Tenorio was born in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico. From a young age, she showed a keen interest in bullfighting, a passion that was unusual for women in her community. Her family supported her ambitions, and she began training at a local bullfighting school.
Career[edit | edit source]
Hilda Tenorio made her debut as a bullfighter in 2002 at the age of 16. She quickly gained recognition for her skill and bravery in the ring. In 2008, she took the alternativa, a ceremony in which a novice bullfighter becomes a full matador, in Pachuca, Hidalgo. Her godfather in the ceremony was the renowned matador Enrique Ponce.
Throughout her career, Tenorio has faced numerous challenges, including severe injuries. Despite these setbacks, she has continued to perform and has become a symbol of perseverance and dedication in the sport.

Hilda Tenorio has performed in many prestigious bullrings across Mexico and Spain. She is celebrated for her technical skill and her ability to connect with the audience.
