Hospital Metropolitano Dr. Pila, commonly known as Hospital Dr. Pila, is a general hospital located in Ponce, Puerto Rico. It is part of the MetroPavia Heath Systems.
History[edit | edit source]
The hospital was founded in 1925 by Dr. Manuel de la Pila Iglesias, a Spaniard from Cádiz, Spain, who was raised in Ponce. Before establishing Hospital Dr. Pila, he worked at Ponce's Tricoche Municipal Hospital and the private Hospital San Lucas. He also served as the medical director at the Hospital de Damas in Ponce.[3] The hospital is currently affiliated with various medical schools and universities.

Hospital Dr. Pila is a general hospital with 212 beds. It provides a wide range of healthcare services to the community of Ponce and the surrounding areas. The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology and facilities to ensure the highest quality of care for its patients.
