I Am Omega

I Am Omega is a 2007 American science fiction film directed by Griff Furst. The film falls under the post-apocalyptic genre and is loosely based on the classic novel I Am Legend by Richard Matheson.

Plot[edit | edit source]

The story follows the protagonist, Renchard, portrayed by Mark Dacascos, as he navigates a world ravaged by a deadly virus that has turned most of the population into zombies. Renchard, who is immune to the virus, must fight to survive and find a way to potentially save humanity.

Production[edit | edit source]

I Am Omega was produced by The Asylum, known for their low-budget, direct-to-video films. The movie was released as a mockbuster to capitalize on the release of the big-budget film I Am Legend starring Will Smith.

Cast[edit | edit source]

The cast of I Am Omega includes:

  • Mark Dacascos as Renchard
  • Geoff Meed as Sergeant Hodges
  • Jennifer Lee Wiggins as Brianna
  • Ryan Lloyd as Dr. Duke
  • Mike Baldridge as Private Ryan

Reception[edit | edit source]

The film received mixed reviews from critics, with praise for its action sequences and Dacascos' performance, but criticism for its low production values and lack of originality compared to I Am Legend.

Legacy[edit | edit source]

Despite its shortcomings, I Am Omega has gained a cult following among fans of post-apocalyptic and zombie films.
