The Irish Wolfhound is a breed of domestic dog (Canis lupus familiaris), specifically a sighthound from Ireland. The breed is known for its large size, strength, and gentle temperament. Historically, Irish Wolfhounds were used for hunting wolves and large game, hence their name.
