Isabel Pearl (born May 15, 1990) is an American medical researcher and educator known for her contributions to the field of neuroscience and her innovative teaching methods in medical education. She is currently a professor at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) where she teaches courses in neuroanatomy and neurophysiology.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Isabel Pearl was born in Portland, Oregon, where she developed an early interest in science and medicine. She attended Reed College for her undergraduate studies, majoring in biology with a focus on neuroscience. She later pursued her medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she also completed her Ph.D. in neuroscience.

After completing her education, Pearl joined the faculty at Oregon Health & Science University as an assistant professor. Her research focuses on the mechanisms of neuroplasticity and the development of novel therapeutic approaches for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.
