Islero
Islero was a Spanish Fighting Bull of the Miura breed, known for fatally goring the famous bullfighter Manolete on August 28, 1947. The incident occurred during a bullfight in Linares, Spain.

Islero was born in 1945 and was part of the Miura ranch, a prestigious breeder of fighting bulls. The Miura breed is known for its size, strength, and aggressive behavior, making them a favorite in the bullfighting arena.
The Incident[edit | edit source]
On August 28, 1947, during a bullfight in Linares, Islero was the fifth bull to be fought by Manolete, one of the most renowned bullfighters of the time. During the final stages of the fight, known as the estocada, Islero managed to gore Manolete in the thigh, severing his femoral artery. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, Manolete succumbed to his injuries the following day.
