Ita Rina

Ita Rina was a Slovenian actress born on July 7, 1907, in Divača, Austria-Hungary (now Slovenia). She gained international recognition for her performances in European films during the 1920s and 1930s.

Ita Rina, whose real name was Ida Kravanja, was born in Divača, a small town in present-day Slovenia. She began her acting career at a young age, performing in local theater productions before transitioning to film.

Career[edit | edit source]

Rina's breakthrough role came in the 1927 German silent film Der Geisterzug (The Ghost Train). Her performance garnered critical acclaim and established her as a rising star in European cinema. She went on to star in several successful films, including Pandora's Box (1929) and The Mistress of Atlantis (1932).

Rina's on-screen presence and versatility as an actress captivated audiences across Europe. She was known for her expressive performances and ability to portray a wide range of characters with depth and emotion.

Later Years and Legacy[edit | edit source]

Despite her early success, Ita Rina's career began to decline in the mid-1930s. She made fewer film appearances and eventually retired from acting. Rina lived a quiet life out of the public eye until her death on May 10, 1979, in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
