Jamaica Blue

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Jamaica Blue is a popular coffee brand and café chain that originated in Australia in 1992. Named after the Blue Mountains in Jamaica, the brand is known for its high-quality coffee and modern café environment.

History[edit | edit source]

The first Jamaica Blue café was opened in Indooroopilly, Queensland in 1992. The brand was created by Foodco, a leading Australian food and drink company. The name "Jamaica Blue" was chosen to reflect the high-quality, blue-ribbon coffee beans grown in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, which are considered some of the best in the world.

Coffee[edit | edit source]

Jamaica Blue's coffee is made from a blend of 100% Arabica beans sourced from five different countries, including Jamaica. The brand's signature blend is known as the Jamaica Blue Signature Blend, which is medium roasted to bring out the distinct flavours of the beans.

Cafés[edit | edit source]

Jamaica Blue cafés are designed to provide a modern and comfortable environment for customers. The cafés offer a range of food options, including light meals, gourmet sandwiches, and pastries, in addition to their coffee. As of 2021, there are over 170 Jamaica Blue cafés in Australia and the brand has expanded internationally with cafés in the United Kingdom, China, Malaysia, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates.

Awards[edit | edit source]

Jamaica Blue has won numerous awards for its coffee and cafés, including the Golden Bean Award for 'Chain Store/Café Milk Based Coffee' and the QSR Media Detpak Award for 'Best Sustainability Initiative'.
