Jason Snelling is a former professional American football player who played as a running back and fullback in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on December 29, 1983, in Toms River, New Jersey.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Snelling attended Loyalsock Township High School in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where he excelled in football and track and field. He continued his education and football career at the University of Virginia, playing for the Virginia Cavaliers football team.

Professional Career[edit | edit source]

Snelling was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played for the Falcons from 2007 to 2013, primarily serving as a backup running back and fullback. Snelling was known for his versatility and ability to contribute on special teams.

During his NFL career, Snelling amassed over 1,400 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns. He was also a reliable receiver out of the backfield, recording over 1,000 receiving yards and 8 receiving touchdowns.

In 2014, Snelling announced his retirement from professional football, citing personal reasons.
