Jet Li (born 26 April 1963) is a Chinese-Singaporean martial artist, actor, and film producer. He is known for his roles in martial arts films and has gained international fame for his performances in both Chinese and Hollywood movies.

Jet Li was born as Li Lianjie in Beijing, China. He began practicing wushu at the age of eight and quickly became a national champion. His exceptional skills in martial arts led him to a career in the film industry.

Chinese Cinema[edit | edit source]
Jet Li made his film debut in 1982 with the movie Shaolin Temple. He continued to star in several successful martial arts films, including Once Upon a Time in China series, where he portrayed the legendary folk hero Wong Fei-hung.
Hollywood[edit | edit source]
Jet Li transitioned to Hollywood in the late 1990s. His first major role in an American film was as the villain in Lethal Weapon 4 (1998). He went on to star in several Hollywood films, including Romeo Must Die (2000), Kiss of the Dragon (2001), and The Expendables series.
Personal Life[edit | edit source]
Jet Li became a naturalized Singaporean citizen in 2009. He is married to Nina Li Chi, a former Hong Kong actress, and they have two daughters together. He also has two daughters from his previous marriage to Huang Qiuyan.
Philanthropy[edit | edit source]
Jet Li is known for his philanthropic efforts. He founded the One Foundation, which focuses on disaster relief and other humanitarian efforts.
