Jim Koch
Jim Koch (born May 27, 1949) is an American entrepreneur and the co-founder and chairman of the Boston Beer Company, the producers of Samuel Adams beer. He is widely recognized for his contributions to the craft beer movement in the United States.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Jim Koch was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is the sixth generation of his family to become a brewer. Koch attended Harvard University, where he earned a bachelor's degree, a J.D., and a M.B.A..

Koch began his career as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group, but he left the corporate world to pursue his passion for brewing. In 1984, he co-founded the Boston Beer Company with the goal of producing high-quality craft beer. The company's flagship product, Samuel Adams Boston Lager, was introduced in 1985 and quickly gained popularity.
