Jim Treliving
Jim Treliving (born May 12, 1941) is a Canadian businessman, television personality, and former Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officer. He is best known as one of the "dragons" on the Canadian television show Dragons' Den.
Early Life and Career[edit | edit source]
Jim Treliving was born in Virden, Manitoba, Canada. He began his career as an officer with the RCMP, where he served for eight years. During his time with the RCMP, Treliving was stationed in various locations across Canada.
Business Ventures[edit | edit source]
After leaving the RCMP, Treliving entered the business world. He is best known for his involvement with Boston Pizza, a Canadian-based restaurant chain. In 1968, Treliving opened his first Boston Pizza franchise in Penticton, British Columbia. Over the years, he expanded the business significantly, eventually becoming the owner of the entire chain along with his business partner, George Melville.
Boston Pizza[edit | edit source]
Boston Pizza, also known as BP, is a Canadian multinational restaurant chain that owns and franchises locations in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The chain offers a variety of menu items, including pizza, pasta, and burgers. Under Treliving's leadership, Boston Pizza has grown to over 400 locations.

In addition to Boston Pizza, Treliving has invested in various other businesses. He has interests in the real estate, sports, and entertainment industries. Treliving is also a co-owner of the NHL team, the Dallas Stars.

Jim Treliving is widely recognized for his role as one of the "dragons" on the Canadian television show Dragons' Den. The show features entrepreneurs pitching their business ideas to a panel of wealthy investors, known as "dragons," in hopes of securing investment. Treliving has been a part of the show since its inception in 2006.
