Jitendra Singh (politician, born 1956)
Jitendra Singh (born 6 November 1956) is an Indian politician and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is currently serving as the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Science and Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Earth Sciences; Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office; Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions; and Minister of State in the Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Jitendra Singh was born in Jammu, in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. He pursued his education in medicine and is a graduate in Medicine and Surgery from the Government Medical College, Jammu. He has also served as a professor of Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Government Medical College, Jammu, and has been involved in research and clinical practice. Singh has contributed to various medical research papers and has been a part of health and medical education in the region.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Singh's political career began with his involvement in the Bharatiya Janata Party, where he has held various positions. His political journey is marked by his dedication to public service and governance. He was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha from the Udhampur constituency in Jammu and Kashmir in 2014.
