Jod-Basedow phenomenon

Jod-Basedow phenomenon is a condition that occurs in individuals with iodine deficiency who ingest a large amount of iodine. This sudden increase in iodine intake can lead to hyperthyroidism, a condition where the thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone.
