Johann Heinrich von Heucher
Johann Heinrich von Heucher (1677–1747) was a notable German physician and botanist. He is best known for his contributions to the field of botany and his work as a court physician.

Johann Heinrich von Heucher was born in 1677 in Weissenfels, Germany. He pursued his studies in medicine and botany at the University of Leipzig, where he earned his medical degree. His academic background laid the foundation for his future contributions to science and medicine.
Career[edit | edit source]
Heucher served as a professor of medicine at the University of Wittenberg, where he gained recognition for his expertise in both medicine and botany. His work in botany was particularly influential, and he was known for his extensive knowledge of plant species.
In addition to his academic career, Heucher was appointed as the court physician to Augustus II the Strong, the Elector of Saxony and King of Poland. In this role, he provided medical care to the royal family and was involved in various medical and botanical projects.
