Juliet Burke is a fictional character on the ABC television series Lost, which chronicles the lives of the survivors of a plane crash on a mysterious tropical island. The character is portrayed by Elizabeth Mitchell.

Juliet Burke is introduced in the third season of Lost. She is a fertility doctor recruited by the Others, a group of mysterious inhabitants of the island. Juliet's primary role is to solve the problem of pregnancy on the island, as women who conceive on the island die before giving birth.

Juliet was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She has a sister named Rachel Carlson, who is diagnosed with cancer. Juliet's research in fertility is driven by her desire to help her sister conceive a child despite her illness.

On the Island[edit | edit source]

Juliet is brought to the island by Richard Alpert and Ethan Rom under the pretense of a short-term research project. However, she soon realizes that she is trapped on the island.
