- Kaplan is a city located in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is part of the Abbeville Micropolitan Statistical Area. Kaplan is known as the "Gateway to the Coastal Wetlands" and prides itself on the moniker "Cajun Heartland, USA."

- The city of Kaplan is named after Abrom Kaplan, who bought the Jim Todd Plantation in 1901. The town was incorporated in 1906.

- Kaplan is located in the southern part of Louisiana. The city has a total area of 2.2 square miles, all land.
