Kelli Ward

Kelli Ward (born January 25, 1969) is an American politician and physician who served as the chair of the Arizona Republican Party from 2019 to 2023. She is a former member of the Arizona State Senate, representing the 5th legislative district from 2012 to 2015. Early life and education

Kelli Ward was born in Fairmont, West Virginia. She attended Duke University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology. She then pursued a medical degree at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.). Ward completed her residency in family medicine at the University of Arizona.

Medical career

Ward worked as a family physician in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where she also owned a private practice. Her medical career focused on providing primary care services to rural communities. In 2018, Ward ran again for the U.S. Senate, this time for the seat vacated by retiring Senator Jeff Flake. She lost the Republican primary to Martha McSally.
