- Kent County is one of the five counties located in the U.S. state of Rhode Island. Despite having no governmental functions (other than as court administrative and sheriff corrections boundaries), it is still recognized as a geographical entity. The county was formed in 1750 from the southern part of Providence County. It was named after the county of Kent, in England.

- Kent County is the second smallest county in Rhode Island. It is bordered by Providence County to the north and east, and Washington County to the south. The western border is with Windham County, Connecticut and New London County, Connecticut.
