Ladyhawke (musician)
Ladyhawke (born Phillipa Margaret Brown on 13 July 1979) is a New Zealand singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She is best known for her self-titled debut album, which was released in 2008 and included the hit singles "My Delirium" and "Paris Is Burning".

Ladyhawke was born in Masterton, a small town in the Wellington Region of New Zealand. She grew up in a musical family, with her mother being a singer and her stepfather a jazz drummer. From a young age, she was exposed to a variety of musical genres, which influenced her eclectic style.

Early Career[edit | edit source]
Before adopting the stage name Ladyhawke, Brown was involved in several musical projects. She was a member of the band Two Lane Blacktop, which disbanded in 2003. She then joined the band Teenager, formed by Nick Littlemore of Pnau and Empire of the Sun.
Solo Career[edit | edit source]
In 2008, Ladyhawke released her debut self-titled album, which received critical acclaim and commercial success. The album featured a blend of new wave, indie rock, and synth-pop influences. The single "My Delirium" became particularly popular, charting in multiple countries and earning her a strong fanbase.
Her second album, Anxiety, was released in 2012. It showcased a more guitar-driven sound compared to her debut. The album included singles such as "Black White & Blue" and "Sunday Drive".
In 2016, Ladyhawke released her third album, Wild Things. This album marked a return to her synth-pop roots and featured the single "A Love Song".
Her fourth album, Time Flies, was released in 2021. It continued to build on her established sound while exploring new musical territories.

Ladyhawke has been open about her struggles with Asperger syndrome and anxiety disorder. She has used her platform to raise awareness about these conditions and to advocate for mental health support.
In 2015, she married actress Madeleine Sami. The couple has one child together.
