Lake Balaton is the largest lake in Central Europe, located in Hungary. It is often referred to as the "Hungarian Sea" due to its size. The lake's surface area spans approximately 592 square kilometers, making it a significant geographical feature of the country.

Lake Balaton is located in the western part of Hungary, surrounded by the Balaton Uplands to the north and the Somogy Hills to the south.
