Laurence Levy (born March 15, 1965) is an American professor and medical researcher renowned for his contributions to the field of neuroscience and his innovative approaches to medical education. Laurence Levy was born in New York City, where he developed an early interest in the sciences. He attended Stuyvesant High School, known for its rigorous academic programs, before pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Yale University. He graduated summa cum laude in 1987.

Levy continued his education at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 1991. During his time at Johns Hopkins, he was involved in groundbreaking research on neuroplasticity, which laid the foundation for his future work.
