Leg fetishism

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Leg fetishism is a sexual fetish that involves an attraction to the legs, typically the legs of another person. This fetish is considered a form of partialism, which is a sexual interest with an exclusive focus on a specific part of the body.

Definition[edit | edit source]

Leg fetishism is defined as a pronounced sexual interest in the legs. This can involve a variety of activities, such as viewing, touching, or kissing the legs, or fantasizing about these activities. The fetish can be focused on any part of the legs, including the thighs, knees, calves, ankles, or feet.

Causes[edit | edit source]

The causes of leg fetishism are not well understood. Some theories suggest that it may be related to classical conditioning, where a person associates the legs with sexual arousal. Other theories suggest that it may be related to evolutionary psychology, with the legs being a sign of physical fitness and fertility.

Cultural aspects[edit | edit source]

In many cultures, the legs are considered a secondary sexual characteristic, and are often emphasized in clothing and fashion. This can include the use of high heels, stockings, or short skirts to accentuate the legs. In some cultures, such as in Japan, there is a specific term for leg fetishism, called Ashikoki, which involves a sexual attraction to the legs and feet.
