Indonesian cuisine is a collection of various regional culinary traditions that formed the archipelagic nation of Indonesia. There are a wide variety of recipes and cuisines in part because Indonesia is composed of approximately 6,000 populated islands of the total 17,508 in the world's largest archipelagic country, with more than 300 ethnic groups calling Indonesia home. Many regional cuisines exist, often based upon indigenous culture and foreign influences such as Chinese, European, Middle Eastern, and Indian precedents. This article focuses on the rich and diverse array of Indonesian desserts.

Klepon[edit | edit source]
Klepon is a traditional Indonesian dessert made from glutinous rice flour, filled with palm sugar, and coated in grated coconut. The sweet taste of palm sugar that melts in the mouth when bitten is a delightful surprise.
Dadar Gulung[edit | edit source]
Dadar Gulung is a dessert made from glutinous rice flour and coconut milk, filled with grated coconut and palm sugar. The dessert is rolled, similar to a pancake, and is green in color due to the use of pandan leaves.

Pisang Goreng is a popular dessert in Indonesia, made from bananas coated in batter and deep-fried until golden and crispy. It is often served with a dusting of powdered sugar or a scoop of ice cream.

Es Teler is a fruit cocktail from Indonesia. Avocado, coconut meat, cincau, jackfruit and other fruits are served with coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk, Pandanus amaryllifolius leaves, sugar, and a tiny amount of salt.
