Hawaii Counties

Hawaii, the 50th state of the United States, is composed of five counties: Honolulu County, Hawaii County, Maui County, Kauai County, and Kalawao County. Each county has its unique characteristics in terms of size, population, and healthcare facilities.

Honolulu County

Honolulu County is the most populous county in Hawaii and covers the entire island of Oahu. The county is home to the state's capital, Honolulu, and is the primary gateway to Hawaii.

Kalawao County, the smallest county in Hawaii in terms of land area, is unique in that it is the only county in the United States that has no elected government. It is also home to the Kalaupapa National Historical Park.

The population of Kalawao County was approximately 86 as of the 2020 census, making it the smallest county in Hawaii in terms of population.

Due to its small population, Kalawao County does not have major healthcare facilities. However, it does have a small clinic within the Kalaupapa National Historical Park to cater to the healthcare needs of its residents.
