List of islands of India
The List of islands of India includes numerous islands located in the Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal, and the Arabian Sea. India has a vast coastline and is home to several islands, each with its unique geographical and cultural significance. The islands of India are divided into two major groups: the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Lakshadweep islands.
Andaman and Nicobar Islands[edit | edit source]
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a group of islands located at the juncture of the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. This archipelago consists of 572 islands, of which 37 are inhabited. The islands are known for their pristine beaches, rich marine life, and indigenous tribes.
