Livingston Parish is a parish located in the U.S. state of Louisiana. As of the 2020 census, the population was 142,282. The parish seat is Livingston. The parish was founded in 1832 and named after Edward Livingston, a prominent American jurist and statesman.

Livingston Parish was established on February 10, 1832, from part of St. Helena Parish. It was named in honor of Edward Livingston, who was a distinguished lawyer and politician. The area has a rich history, including its role in the American Civil War and its development during the 20th century.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Livingston Parish is located in southeastern Louisiana. According to the United States Census Bureau, the parish has a total area of 1,824 square kilometers, of which 1,770 square kilometers is land and 54 square kilometers is water. The parish is part of the Baton Rouge metropolitan area.
