Longmont is a city located in Boulder County, Colorado, United States. It is situated in the northeastern part of the state and is approximately 33 miles north-northwest of the state capital, Denver. With a population of 96,577 as of 2020, Longmont is the 13th most populous city in Colorado.

Longmont was founded in 1871 by Stephen H. Long, a prominent explorer and surveyor. The city was named after him to honor his contributions to the region.
