Mercedes-Benz ML350

The Mercedes-Benz ML350 is a luxury mid-size SUV that was part of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class lineup, which was later renamed the GLE-Class. The ML350 was produced from 2002 to 2015 and was known for its blend of luxury, performance, and off-road capability.

History[edit | edit source]

The ML350 was introduced as part of the second generation of the M-Class, known internally as the W164, which debuted in 2005. It succeeded the first-generation ML320 and was positioned as a more powerful and refined option in the M-Class range.

Design and Features[edit | edit source]

The ML350 featured a unibody construction, which provided a smoother ride compared to traditional body-on-frame SUVs. It was equipped with a range of luxury features, including leather upholstery, wood trim, and advanced technology options such as a navigation system and premium audio.

Exterior[edit | edit source]

The exterior design of the ML350 was characterized by its bold front grille, sleek lines, and muscular stance. It featured alloy wheels, roof rails, and optional running boards.

Interior[edit | edit source]

Inside, the ML350 offered seating for five passengers with ample cargo space. The interior was designed with comfort and convenience in mind, featuring power-adjustable seats, dual-zone climate control, and a multifunction steering wheel.

Performance[edit | edit source]

The ML350 was powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine, which produced around 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It was paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission and was available with either rear-wheel drive or Mercedes-Benz's 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system.

Off-Road Capability[edit | edit source]

Despite its luxury focus, the ML350 was capable off-road, thanks to its high ground clearance, advanced traction control systems, and optional off-road package, which included features like skid plates and a two-speed transfer case.

Safety[edit | edit source]

Safety was a key focus for the ML350, which came equipped with a range of safety features, including multiple airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, and Mercedes-Benz's PRE-SAFE system, which prepared the vehicle for an impending collision.

Successor[edit | edit source]

In 2015, the M-Class was rebranded as the GLE-Class, and the ML350 was succeeded by the GLE350, which continued to build on the strengths of its predecessor with updated styling, technology, and performance enhancements.
