MTA Regional Bus Operations
MTA Regional Bus Operations (RBO) is the surface transit division of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), which is responsible for providing public transportation services in the form of bus services across New York City, United States. The MTA RBO oversees a network of bus routes that serve the five boroughs of New York City: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island. This extensive network makes it one of the largest public bus service providers in the world, with a fleet comprising over 5,700 buses operating on more than 300 routes.

The MTA Regional Bus Operations was established to consolidate the bus operations of several private and public bus companies that had been operating under franchise agreements with the City of New York. The MTA RBO operates various types of bus services, including local, limited-stop, and express routes. Local buses serve short distances with frequent stops, while limited-stop buses operate on similar routes but stop less frequently, offering faster travel times. The bus fleet is diverse, with vehicles ranging from standard diesel buses to hybrid electric and all-electric buses, reflecting the MTA's commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint.
