MTV is a television channel in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It was launched on 1 July 1997 and is operated by ViacomCBS Networks UK & Australia. The channel primarily broadcasts music videos, along with a variety of other music-related programming and reality television shows.

MTV UK and Ireland was launched as part of the MTV Networks Europe expansion. Initially, the channel was a simulcast of the American MTV channel, but it gradually began to feature more localized content.
