Magdeburg
Magdeburg is the capital city of the state of Saxony-Anhalt in Germany. It is situated on the Elbe River and has a rich history dating back over 1,200 years. Magdeburg is known for its significant contributions to science, engineering, and architecture.

Magdeburg was founded by Charlemagne in 805 AD. It became an important medieval city and was a member of the Hanseatic League. The city played a crucial role during the Protestant Reformation and the Thirty Years' War. In 1631, Magdeburg was almost completely destroyed during the Sack of Magdeburg.
