Mandakini Amte is an Indian social worker and medical doctor known for her work with the Maharashtra-based Lok Biradari Prakalp, a project aimed at the development of tribal communities in the Gadchiroli district. She is recognized for her contributions to healthcare and social services in rural India.

Mandakini Amte was born in Nagpur, Maharashtra. She pursued her medical education at the Government Medical College, Nagpur, where she met her future husband, Prakash Amte. Both shared a common vision of serving the underprivileged and decided to dedicate their lives to social work.

After completing her medical degree, Mandakini Amte joined her husband in the remote village of Hemalkasa in the Gadchiroli district. Together, they established the Lok Biradari Prakalp in 1973, under the guidance of Prakash's father, the renowned social activist Baba Amte.
