Marc Schneier

Marc Schneier is an American rabbi known for his work in interfaith dialogue and promoting understanding between different religious communities. He was born on March 31, 1959, in New York City. Schneier is the founding rabbi of The Hampton Synagogue in Westhampton Beach, New York.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Schneier grew up in a Jewish family in New York City. He attended Yeshiva University and later received his rabbinic ordination from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. He also holds a master's degree in public administration from New York University.

Interfaith Work[edit | edit source]

Rabbi Schneier is a prominent figure in interfaith dialogue, particularly between the Jewish and Muslim communities. He has been involved in numerous initiatives to foster understanding and cooperation between different religious groups. In 2008, he co-founded the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding, an organization dedicated to promoting interfaith relations.

Schneier has received several awards for his work in promoting interfaith dialogue and understanding. In 2015, he was honored with the Walter Cronkite Faith and Freedom Award for his efforts in building bridges between different faith communities.

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

In addition to his work as a rabbi, Marc Schneier is also a published author, with several books on interfaith relations and Jewish spirituality to his name.
