Maria Josepha of Saxony (4 November 1731 – 13 March 1767) was a German princess who became the Dauphine of France through her marriage to Louis, Dauphin of France.

Maria Josepha was born on 4 November 1731 in Dresden, Saxony, to Augustus III of Poland and Maria Josepha of Austria.
Marriage and Family[edit | edit source]
Maria Josepha married Louis, Dauphin of France, in 1747. The couple had four children: Marie Thérèse, Louis Joseph, Xavier, and the future King Louis XVI of France.
Role as Dauphine[edit | edit source]
As Dauphine of France, Maria Josepha was known for her kindness and charitable works. She was a patron of the arts and supported various cultural initiatives at the French court.
Death[edit | edit source]
Maria Josepha passed away on 13 March 1767 in Versailles, France.
