Mark Gil
Mark Gil (September 25, 1961 – September 1, 2014) was a Filipino actor known for his work in Philippine cinema and television. He was born as Raphael John Gil Eigenmann in Manila, Philippines, into a family of actors, making significant contributions to the entertainment industry.

Mark Gil was born to Eddie Mesa, a popular Filipino singer, and Rosemarie Gil, a veteran actress. He was part of the prominent Eigenmann family, which includes his siblings, actors Michael de Mesa and Cherie Gil.

Mark Gil began his acting career in the late 1970s. He gained recognition for his role in the 1982 film Batch '81, directed by Mike de Leon. His portrayal of a neophyte in a fraternity initiation earned him critical acclaim and established him as a serious actor.
Throughout his career, Mark Gil appeared in numerous films and television series. Some of his notable films include Palipat-lipat, Papalit-palit (1982), Miss X (1980), and Magnifico (2003). He was also a regular fixture on television, appearing in popular series such as Mula sa Puso (1997) and Walang Hanggan (2012).

Mark Gil was married to actress Bing Pimentel, with whom he had two children, Gabby Eigenmann and Timothy Mark Eigenmann (better known as Sid Lucero). He also had children with actress Jaclyn Jose, including Andi Eigenmann.

Mark Gil passed away on September 1, 2014, due to liver cancer. His death was a significant loss to the Philippine entertainment industry, and he is remembered for his contributions to film and television.
