- Marlboro County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Carolina. As of the 2010 census, its population was 28,933. Its county seat is Bennettsville. The county was created in 1785.
Geography[edit | edit source]
- Marlboro County is in the northeastern section of South Carolina. It is 485 square miles in size, of which 480 square miles is land and 5.6 square miles is water.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
- As of the 2010 United States Census, there were 28,933 people living in the county. The racial makeup of the county was 50.8% Black or African American, 42.9% White, 0.4% Native American, 0.6% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 4.2% from other races, and 1.0% from two or more races. Those of Hispanic or Latino origin made up 6.8% of the population.
