Mars Bar
Mars Bar is a chocolate bar produced by Mars, Incorporated. It was first manufactured in 1932 in Slough, England by Forrest Mars, Sr., the son of American candy maker Franklin Clarence Mars. The Mars Bar is a popular confectionery product worldwide, known for its nougat and caramel filling, coated in milk chocolate.

The Mars Bar was first produced in the United Kingdom in 1932. Forrest Mars, Sr. developed the recipe for the Mars Bar after a falling out with his father, Franklin Clarence Mars, the founder of the American candy company Mars, Incorporated. Forrest Mars moved to the United Kingdom and established his own candy company, where he developed the Mars Bar.
Ingredients and Variations[edit | edit source]
The original Mars Bar consists of a layer of soft nougat with a caramel topping, coated in milk chocolate. Over the years, several variations of the Mars Bar have been introduced. These include the Mars Almond Bar, which includes whole almonds, and the Mars Dark Bar, which is made with dark chocolate.
In addition to these variations, the Mars Bar has also been used as an ingredient in other food products. For example, it is often used in the creation of the deep-fried Mars Bar, a novelty item popular in Scotland.
Global Availability[edit | edit source]
While the Mars Bar originated in the United Kingdom, it is now available worldwide. However, the formulation of the Mars Bar can vary depending on the region. For example, the American version of the Mars Bar was discontinued in 2002 and replaced with the Snickers Almond Bar. In 2010, the Mars Bar was reintroduced in the United States, but with a slightly different recipe that includes more almonds.
