Max Emilian Verstappen (born 30 September 1997) is a Dutch racing driver who competes in Formula One for Red Bull Racing. He is a two-time World Champion, having won the title in 2021 and 2022. Verstappen is the son of former Formula One driver Jos Verstappen.

Max Verstappen was born in Hasselt, Belgium, to Jos Verstappen and Sophie Kumpen. He began karting at an early age and quickly progressed through the ranks, winning several championships in his youth.

Verstappen's early career saw him compete in various karting championships, where he achieved significant success. He transitioned to single-seater racing in 2014, competing in the Formula 3 European Championship with Van Amersfoort Racing.

Verstappen made his Formula One debut with Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2015, becoming the youngest driver to start a Formula One race at the age of 17. He impressed with his performances, earning a promotion to Red Bull Racing in 2016.
Red Bull Racing (2016-present)[edit | edit source]
Verstappen's move to Red Bull Racing in 2016 was marked by an immediate impact, as he won the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix in his first race for the team, becoming the youngest race winner in Formula One history. He continued to develop as a driver, securing multiple race wins and podium finishes over the following seasons.
In 2021, Verstappen won his first Formula One World Championship after a season-long battle with Lewis Hamilton. He successfully defended his title in 2022, showcasing his consistency and skill.
