Mesona chinensis
Mesona chinensis is a plant species in the family Lamiaceae, commonly known as Black Cincau or Grass Jelly. It is native to East Asia and Southeast Asia, where it is cultivated for its leaves, which are used to produce a jelly-like dessert.

Mesona chinensis is a perennial herb that grows up to 1 meter tall. The leaves are opposite, lanceolate to ovate, and 3-6 cm long. The flowers are small, white, and borne in terminal spikes. The fruit is a small, dry nutlet.

Mesona chinensis is cultivated in China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Indonesia. It prefers well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. The plant is propagated by seeds or cuttings.

The leaves of Mesona chinensis are used to make a dessert known as Grass Jelly or Black Cincau. The leaves are boiled with water and then cooled to form a jelly-like substance. This jelly is often served with sugar syrup or used as an ingredient in drinks and desserts.
