Michael Dillon (1915-1962) was a British physician and the first known transgender man to undergo phalloplasty. Born as Laura Maud Dillon in England, Dillon transitioned to male in the 1940s and became a pioneer in transgender healthcare.

Laura Maud Dillon was born in 1915 in England. Assigned female at birth, Dillon struggled with gender dysphoria from a young age. Despite societal expectations, Dillon identified as male and eventually made the decision to transition.
Transition[edit | edit source]
In the 1940s, Dillon began his transition to male and legally changed his name to Michael Dillon. He underwent several gender-affirming medical procedures, including phalloplasty, making him one of the first transgender men to undergo such surgeries.
