Midnight Sun is a 2018 American romantic drama film directed by Scott Speer and written by Eric Kirsten. The film is a remake of the 2006 Japanese film A Song to the Sun. It stars Bella Thorne, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Rob Riggle.

The story follows 17-year-old Katie Price (Bella Thorne), who has a rare genetic condition called xeroderma pigmentosum (XP), which makes her extremely sensitive to sunlight. Due to her condition, Katie is housebound during the day and can only go out at night. She spends her days indoors, playing the guitar and writing songs.

One night, while playing guitar at the local train station, Katie meets Charlie (Patrick Schwarzenegger), a boy she has secretly admired for years. They begin a romantic relationship, but Katie struggles with whether or not to tell Charlie about her condition. As their relationship deepens, Katie's health deteriorates, leading to a poignant and emotional climax.

The film was announced in June 2015, with Scott Speer set to direct. Bella Thorne and Patrick Schwarzenegger were cast in the lead roles in September 2015. Filming began in October 2015 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and concluded in November 2015.

Midnight Sun was released in the United States on March 23, 2018, by Open Road Films. The film received mixed reviews from critics but was praised for the performances of Thorne and Schwarzenegger.
