Mila Rechcigl

Mila Rechcigl or Miloslav Rechcigl Jr. is a renowned biochemist, nutritionist, and historian of Czech origin. He is particularly known for his extensive work on the history of Czechs in America.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Rechcigl was born on April 9, 1930, in Mladá Boleslav, Czechoslovakia. He moved to the United States in 1950, where he pursued his higher education. He holds a Master's degree in biochemistry and nutrition from Rutgers University and a Ph.D. in biochemistry and nutrition from Cornell University.

Rechcigl has had a distinguished career in the field of biochemistry and nutrition. He has worked at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for over three decades, where he held various positions, including that of a research biochemist, nutritionist, and science administrator.

In addition to his scientific career, Rechcigl has made significant contributions to the field of history, particularly the history of Czechs in America. He has authored and edited numerous books and articles on this subject.

Rechcigl is married to Eva Rechcigl, and they have two children. He is a member of several professional and scientific societies, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Chemical Society.
